Spread the peanut butter on to 3 slices of the bread and layer on top of eachother with plain bread on either side like a sandwich.
Cut the crusts off all sides so you’re left with a cube.
To a mixing bowl add the cornflour, sugar, cinnamon and milk and mix with a whisk until combined.
Add the bread cube to the liquid making sure to coat all sides and soak in the mixture.
Fry in oil until golden on all sides.
Serve topped with a cube of butter and drizzle on the syrup.
Notes
Bread slices- You can layer up as many pieces of bread as you like as the peanut butter sticks the bread together. I used 4 thin pieces but it can be as thick as you like.Customise- This version is made with peanut butter in between the layers but you can use chocolate or jam, get creative and use what you like.
