Charred Broccolini
Broccolini is hands down my favorite vegetable of all time. I love it so much that I've even tried growing it in my garden. Â (and no its not growing very well if you were wondering!).
Broccolini is a hybrid of regular broccoli and gai lan (Chinese broccoli), giving it longer stems, and a slightly sweeter, milder flavor than traditional broccoli. It's less bitter, cooks quickly, and looks a little more elegant on the plate.
When it comes to broccolini recipes, this one might just be my favorite. The broccolini is first boiled for a short amount of time, then finished on a hot griddle pan to create charred edges and grill marks. It's then drizzled with a simple garlic and lemon dressing that brings out the vegetable's natural sweetness while adding plenty of fresh flavor.

If you're searching for the best way to cook broccolini, grilling or charring it is hard to beat. The high heat adds flavor while keeping the stems tender and the florets slightly crisp. This garlic broccolini recipe is simple enough for a midweek meal but impressive enough to serve at a summer BBQ, dinner party, or family gathering.
Whether you're looking for easy broccolini recipes, a new vegetarian side dish, or simply wondering what to do with a bunch of broccolini, this grilled broccolini recipe is the one for you.

Top tip for getting char marks on vegetables
Place the blanched veggies on a piping hot griddle pan or bbq and in the words of Cassie Yeung "love her and leave her alone" I have a habit of wanting to look at the food, move it, stir it as often as i can but to get the distinct char marks it needs to be left in one spot to do its thing!
